About Franklyn Housing Co-op

Franklyn Housing Co-operative is a resident-run estate of 59 homes in Canterbury. Built in the early 1990s and managed by its tenants with support from CDS Co-operatives, the estate includes a mix of houses, flats, and accessible bungalows.

As a co-op, we believe in secure, affordable homes — and in empowering residents to have a voice in how their community is managed. From repairs to lettings, our committee meets regularly to ensure things are running smoothly and fairly for all.

Tenants are welcome to get involved, help shape decisions, and take part in running the co-op.

Well-Maintained Homes in Canterbury

Franklyn Housing Co-op comprises of 1–3 bedroom houses, flats, and accessible bungalows. Every home has central heating, double glazing (currently being upgraded), and up-to-date gas, electric, and EPC certificates.

We’ve designed the estate with community and quality of life in mind — there are private back gardens for houses and bungalows, communal car parks, and green spaces for families to enjoy. Two bungalows have been fully adapted for wheelchair users.
